Oil & Gas Industry
Assisted in the development of software infrastructure for a large software company in the Oil
& Gas industry. Design formed the basis of the entire commercial software developed for the
company. Infrastructure was modeled after J2EE technology, and was designed and optimized
for building Earth Sciences and Petroleum Engineering applications. The infrastructure defined
a set of standard interfaces, and allowed uniform naming and discovery, notification and
object factories. Development took place in Java and the infrastructure was distributed in JAR
files with an API presented to clients for application development. Best practices in Object
Oriented software development were adhered to with an emphasis on rigorous usage of J2EE
patterns.
